Vote on Election Day - Rhode Island
Rhode Island allows same-day voter registration for presidential elections only. If you miss the voter registration deadline, you can register to vote on Election Day but you will only be able to vote for President and Vice President.

Ballot placement lottery for primary and general election. The RI Department of State Elections Division will conduct a lottery to determine ballot placement for unendorsed federal and state party candidates on primary ballots. The lottery will be held at 5 p.m. at the RI Department of State Elections Division (148 W. River Street, Providence, RI).
