When it comes to new contracts, the number that gets publicized more than any other is the new-money average per year.

The San Francisco 49ers, one of the Cardinals' NFC West rivals, and tight end George Kittle agreed to a deal that tops that. McBride's extension was four years for $76 million, an average of $19 million per year with $43 million guarantees and $32.5 million guaranteed at signing.

It is a four-year pact, per Kittle. The deal is worth $76.4M in total and includes $40M in guarantees. The latter figure consists of $35M locked in at signing along with $5M in guarantees covering the 2027 campaign.
