European football ruling body UEFA announced the record during the second semi-final between Germany and Spain in Zurich and shared the news on social media platform X late on Wednesday.
England’s opening Euro 2022 match against Austria at Old Trafford and their final at Wembley Stadium against Germany brought record crowds (68,871 and 87,192).
The Euro 2025 semifinals take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The winners will progress to the final, but it is the end of the road for the beaten teams.
