Goodman explained that as New York City rests on the northern fringe of this winter system, areas further south are more likely to see elevated snowfall amounts. As of Tuesday morning, Staten Island is forecast to receive 2 to 3 inches of accumulation from this storm, according to Goodman.

Another snowstorm is making its way through the tri-state area this weekend following Thursday’s wintry mix. A winter storm watch will go into effect on Saturday at 7 p.m. Drivers are warned to only travel if necessary as roadways are expected to be slippery and dangerous.
