The Tigers look to make a hard push heading into the Midsummer Classic, as they hope to stay at the top of the Major League Baseball standings before Monday. They are riding high thanks to a stretch of good play, having swept the Cleveland Guardians, on the road, last weekend, before taking two of three from the Tampa Bay Rays earlier in the week.

The Tigers aren’t playing their best ball right now. Not sure it matters. The Cats lead the AL Central by a dozen games. The Mariners have no such comfort zone. They are a half dozen back of the Astros and will be one of many teams in the wild-card hunt from here until October.
