Nvidia and its smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices have both agreed to remit 15% of the revenue they generated from AI chip sales in China to the Trump administration, The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Nvidia stock is in the spotlight after the chipmaker secured approval to resume selling its advanced H20 AI chips to China. The deal, however, comes with a controversial twist — the Trump administration is requiring Nvidia and AMD to give 15% of their China AI chip sales revenue to the U.

Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices have agreed to pay 15% of their China chip revenues to the U.S. government in exchange for export licenses, according to a report over the weekend.
