Detroit police are investigating what they believe to be a murder suicide after three family members were found dead inside a west side home.

Two people were taken into Detroit police custody Tuesday in connection with a shooting on the city's east side that left a man injured, an official said. Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the 11500 block of Shoemaker Street for a "police run," said Sgt. Daron Zhou, a Detroit Police Department spokesman.

When police arrived at the home, they found three men suffering from gunshot wounds. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Detroit police Captain Marcus Thirlkill said the shooting appears to have stemmed from a family matter and that all three victims are related.
