Carnival announced on July 17 that Carnival Dream would return to New Orleans as its homeport in 2027. Carnival has released an update following the death of a man who died aboard a popular cruise ship sailing out of Galveston.

HOUSTON, Texas -- An investigation is underway after officials say someone died on a Carnival Cruise cruise ship last week. FBI Houston confirmed the incident occurred last Wednesday, July 23, on the cruise ship, but did not release additional information about what happened.

According to Carnival's schedule for a six-day cruise, the Dream left Galveston last Sunday, July 20. By Wednesday, the ship was traveling between Belize and Cozumel, Mexico, when multiple passengers reported hearing alarms go off in the middle of the night.
