Spotrac managing editor Michael Ginnitti believes the upcoming contract negotiations between the San Francisco 49ers and quarterback Brock Purdy could become one of the NFL's most intriguing storylines.

If Brock Purdy is slated to command upwards of $60 million annually on his second contract, the San Francisco 49ers should not think twice about letting him walk in favor of drafting his replacement.

Though there have been questions regarding how much Purdy should earn, 49ers legend and Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice confidently believes that Purdy is the "guy" for the franchise, and wants his former team to get an extension done with Purdy as soon as they can.
