United Airlines executives are trying to reassure their customers it is safe to fly at Newark Liberty International Airport​, despite all the recent problems.

The Federal Aviation Administration is holding a two-day meeting with major airlines on Wednesday to discuss its proposal to cut flights at Newark Liberty International Airport in order to address major delays.

United's CEO blamed the Newark flight cancellations on government equipment failures coupled with air traffic controllers walking off the job.
