Whether it’s a smartphone, a computer or even a Major League Baseball player, sometimes a reset is necessary. For Rangers first baseman Jake Burger, that meant getting recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Monday after spending 10 days clearing his cache in the Minors.

Jake Burger had time to smile Monday afternoon. Could’ve been because, for the first time in a week-and-a-half, he was back in a big league clubhouse with his teammates. Could’ve been because he was no longer holed up in a hotel some eight hours from home.

The Rangers traded for Burger from the Marlins during the offseason in December, looking to replace Nathaniel Lowe, whom the Rangers traded to the Nationals. Burger hit .250 with 23 doubles and 29 home runs through 137 games with the Marlins in 2024 after he hit 34 dingers the season before with Miami and the White Sox.
