Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070Ti GPUs Have Some ROPs Missing That Seem To Be Impacting Performance
According to TechPowerUp, consumers revealed that some of the RTX 5090 and 5070Ti graphics cards had a lower number of ROPs than claimed by Nvidia. The RTX 5090 was showcased with 176 ROPs, but instead, it had 168. This loss of 8 ROPs results in a 4% performance loss.

GeForce RTX 5080 FE Joins List Of GPUs Spotted With Missing ROPs
A user on Reddit has posted a GPU-Z screenshot that purportedly shows their GeForce RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card with fewer render operation pipelines (ROPs), or render output units if you prefer, than what are supposed to be there. It's the first case we're aware of with missing ROPs on a GeForce RTX 5080 class card, FE or otherwise.

Nvidia confirms rare GeForce RTX 50-series GPU issue
“We have identified a rare issue affecting less than 0.5% (half a percent) of GeForce RTX 5090 / 5090D and 5070 Ti GPUs, which have one fewer ROP than specified," an Nvidia representative told Tom's Hardware Saturday. "The average graphical performance impact is 4%, with no impact on AI and Compute workloads.”
