Rafael Devers debuted at first base for the San Francisco Giants after refusing to play the position for the Boston Red Sox.

On Tuesday, the Giants put Devers back into the field, making his MLB debut as a first baseman. And, maybe not so coincidentally, Devers had a strong day at the plate. The lefty slugger went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored. He took good swings and made hard contact throughout.

Max Fried will make his first start since the break. He missed the All-Star game due to a blister but was able to complete a bullpen session over the weekend, so he's been given the green light to return to action when the New York Yankees visit the Toronto Blue Jays in a key AL East matchup.
