Now, a new report from The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn reveals that Celtics star Jayson Tatum has personally stepped in to recruit Lillard to Boston. Washburn reported that Tatum is “taking part in recruiting efforts” to convince the 34-year-old guard to join the 18-time NBA Champions once he’s healthy enough to return.
The Boston Celtics are listening to trade offers for recent acquisition Anfernee Simons, who was part of the Jrue Holiday trade to the Portland Trail Blazers last month in a cost-cutting move. Simons averaged 19.3 points and 4.8 assists last season and is on an expiring deal worth $27.7 million.
