Key opening men's matches at Wimbledon have an Italian flavour in the form of world number one Jannik Sinner facing compatriot Luca Nardi while Spanish twice reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz also has Italian opposition in veteran Fabio Fognini.

Alcaraz could run into either fifth seed Taylor Fritz or ninth seed Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals. Both have done well at Wimbledon in the past. He's likely to face Sinner or Djokovic in the championship round, two of his biggest rivals at the moment.

Just days before he begins his Wimbledon campaign, Carlos Alcaraz already knows that no matter what happens, he won’t be able to surpass World No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
