Advocates have released comments in response to the Trump Justice Department recommending to a federal judge that there was “no need for a prison sentence” for former LMPD officer Brett Hankison.

The former LMPD officer convicted of violating Breonna Taylor's civil rights will be sentenced in federal court.

The statement follows the U.S. Department of Justice's recommendation that Brett Hankison receive a one-day sentence.
