The Trump administration on Monday asked a federal appeals court to pause a sweeping order from a California judge that required officials to stop making immigration arrests without probable cause in the southern part of the state.

The lawsuit accused the DHS of operating a program of “abducting and disappearing” community members using unlawful arrest tactics.

After a federal judge in Los Angeles barred "roving patrols" by immigration agents in seven California counties, the Trump administration asked the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to resume operations that lawyers for the state have argued are unconstitutional.
