Earlier this month, official government websites that hosted the national climate assessments went dark. Such sites told state and local governments and the public what to expect in their backyards from a warming world and how to best adapt to it.

The U.S. Global Change Research Program’s website, globalchange.gov, was taken down along with all five versions of the National Climate Assessment report
