Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg said at an analyst conference that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is helping Boeing address issues that have delayed delivery of the new Air Force One jets.

Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg on Thursday said Elon Musk, the head of its space business rival SpaceX, is "helping us a lot" in navigating through delays in delivering Boeing's Air Force One presidential jet.

The comments were the White House's latest attempt to ratchet up pressure on Boeing, which is at least three years behind in delivering two new jets.

"No, I'm not happy with Boeing. It takes them a long time to do, you know, Air Force One, we gave that contract out a long time ago. It's a fixed-price contract. And I'm not happy with the fact that it's taking so long.

"He’s able to pretty quickly ascertain the difference between technical requirements and things that we can move out of the way," Kelly Ortberg said.
