Kris Bubic, Kansas City Royals and Giants

Kansas City Royals starter Kris Bubic was impressive on Monday night against the San Francisco Giants. The 27-year-old left-handed pitcher took a no-hitter into the seventh inning at Oracle Park, further solidifying his case for an All-Star nomination this summer.
Pitching about 45 miles north of where he grew up, Royals left-hander Kris Bubic nearly pitched himself into the franchise record books before settling for another dazzling outing while leading Kansas City to a 3-1 win over the Giants on Monday.
Kris Bubic threw seven scoreless innings, losing a no-hit bid in the sixth on an official scoring change, and Vinnie Pasquantino hit a two-run homer in the eighth as the Kansas City Royals got past the San Francisco Giants 3-1.
Bubic, who earned a no decision, now sports a 1.66 ERA and has six quality starts on the year. He trails Max Fried (1.03 ERA), Tyler Mahle (1.47 ERA) and Hunter Brown (1.48 ERA) among American League leaders.
Just as they did last year, the Royals are winning on the backs of a stalwart rotation: Entering play on Sunday, Kansas City's starting pitchers had combined for a 2.63 ERA, the second-best mark in baseball.
