Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings was appointed by Anthropic's Long-Term Benefit Trust to serve on the startup's board of directors.

Netflix chairman Reed Hastings has joined the board of directors of Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company whose major investors include Amazon. Anthropic, a rival to OpenAI, was founded in 2021 as a public benefit corporation.

It’s a good thing Netflix cofounder Reed Hastings doesn’t work at the streaming service anymore, because the fight to keep thousands of copyrighted works away from the clutches of AI may have gotten that much harder.
