This weekend, watch these three underrated movies on HBO Max: a supervillain team-up adventure, an '80s action pic, and a mid-budget thriller.

The release date for Superman has become a hot topic among DC fans recently. Directed by James Gunn, this superhero film explores the journey of the titular character as he navigates life with his adoptive human family while trying to reconnect with his Kryptonian heritage.

It's far from the only film though, with dozens dropping on July 1. The list includes not one but two versions of Dances With Wolves (the second being the extended cut of actor/director Kevin Costner's epic Western), The Amityville Horror (both classic and remake), Annabelle, and a grand total of six Mortal Kombat movies, from 1995 to 2021.
