Zach LaVine poured in 36 points and DeMar DeRozan added 22 as the host Kings spoiled De'Aaron Fox's return to Sacramento, rolling to a 127-109 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

Fox had long been the face of the franchise in Sacramento, and in 2022, the Kings picked hm over rising star Tyrese Haliburton. Fox dragged the Kings to the playoffs once, although it was clear that his team was never in the running to win a title.

While he never requested a trade, Fox made it clear that he did not want to play for any coach in Sacramento other than Brown, who was fired on Dec. 27 while the team held a 13-18 record. This action by the Kings set an eventual Fox trade into motion.

The explosive guard received a mix of boos and love in his first game against the Kings since they traded him to the Spurs on Feb. 3.
