Israel is examining Hamas's response to a Gaza ceasefire proposal, the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday. Hamas said on Wednesday it had submitted its response to mediators but did not disclose the content.

The U.N. and international aid agencies resumed trucking humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza, according to Israel, but the U.N. said it was far too little.

More than 100 charity and human rights groups say Israel’s blockade and ongoing military offensive are pushing Palestinians in the Gaza Strip toward starvation. Israeli strikes meanwhile killed another 21 people overnight and into Wednesday, according to local health officials.
