The Sensex plummeted by 1,018 points on Tuesday due to US tariffs reigniting trade war fears, foreign fund outflows, and across-the-board selling. Nifty also declined below 23,100.

Indian markets fell sharply on Tuesday as concerns around US trade policy and lacklustre domestic earnings continued to sap investor sentiment. The Nifty 50 was down 339 points as of 1.30 pm, while the BSE Sensex shed 1047 points.

The trends on Gift Nifty indicate a flat-to-positive start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 23,480 level, a premium of nearly 20 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.
