Many teams were trying to, and some did their best to bolster their roster, and that was the case for the Houston Rockets. The Rockets came away as winners in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes as they traded for the 15-time All-Star on Sunday just hours before Game 7.

There was mutual interest between Durant and the Heat, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported, but Miami declined the chance to send Jaime Jacquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, Haywood Highsmith, the No. 20 pick and other draft assets to the Suns in a deal.

According to Suns insider John Gambadoro, the Heat made Nikola Jovic and Kel’el Ware untouchable in trade talks for Durant and they also offered the Suns only one first-round pick. In his report, Gambadoro also took a shot at the Heat due to their trade offer for Durant.
