Live With Kelly and Mark is without one of its titular personalities this week, but fret not, there was good reason. Kelly Ripa is seemingly simply enjoying her annual summer break from the longtime ABC talk show leading to her recent absence.

A series of guest hosts took over for Consuelos last week, among whom were Jerry O’Connell ( July 29 ), David Muir ( July 30 ), Carson Kressley ( July 31 ), and Steve Patterson ( Aug. 1 ). Ripa told viewers that Consuelos was “working on a show out in L.A.”

Why isn't Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Mark this week? Even morning TV's fiercest warriors need a break, it seems. The daytime icon will sit out morning broadcasts of Live, as the popular personality typically takes a short leave from the long-running talk show every summer.
