At around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, Pacific Palisades, a coastal community of about 23,000 people, was still burning from the wildfires that have swept through the city this week.

A Los Angeles museum appeared to have been saved from raging wildfires Wednesday as the fast-growing Palisades Fire crept toward it Tuesday. Staff at the Getty Villa in Pacific Palisades were praised for their work in preparing the world-renowned property to avoid catastrophic damage as the fire r ipped through nearby homes and businesses.

The grounds of the Getty Villa caught fire on Tuesday as a blaze continued tearing through the Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades. The museum and its staff were not harmed, according to a statement issued today by the Getty,
