Maryland fans aren’t sorry to see Kevin Willard go to Villanova, but the the university shouldn’t ignore lessons from his abrupt departure.

The Villanova Wildcats have hired Maryland's Kevin Willard as their new coach. Willard had been linked to the Villanova job throughout the NCAA Tournament, where the Terrapins earned a No. 4 seed and reached the Sweet 16 before losing to Florida.

After Villanova announced Sunday it hired former Terrapins head coach Kevin Willard to take over its own program, both Steve Blake and Greivis Vásquez took to social media and commented on the new Maryland vacancy:

ESPN’s Pete Thamel shared a massive update on Maryland head coach Kevin Willard and his future. Whether he stays at Maryland or goes off to somewhere like Villanova is anyone’s guess at this point. However,
