The WNBA's Portland expansion franchise is still without an official name, and now it is also without a team president. Inky Son left the organization this week in a stunning shake-up with less than a year to go until the team's inaugural season in 2026.

Inky Son, president of the expansion WNBA team in Portland, is leaving the organization after less than three months on the job.

No reason was given for Son's sacking, but The Oregonian's Bill Oram reported that the team's "rocky rollout" made for serious "growing pains." Portland's WNBA launch is widely considered to be far behind schedule, especially in comparison to fellow expansion franchise, the Toronto Tempo.
