Residents in the area of Floribunda Avenue and El Camino Real were asked to shelter in place while authorities searched for a suspect who allegedly shot an officer in the rear parking lot of the Hillsborough Police Department.

A Hillsborough police officer was shot in a police building's rear parking lot Saturday afternoon, officials said.
