No sooner had Francisco Lindor broken his pinky toe earlier this week in Los Angeles than he began lobbying Mets manager Carlos Mendoza to let him keep playing. Once the break was confirmed, Mendoza was insistent: Lindor would sit out Thursday’s series finale against the Dodgers.

Lindor has been nursing a broken pinky toe and was out of the starting lineup on Thursday and Friday. However, as the Mets and Rockies entered the ninth inning tied at two runs each, Lindor stepped in to pinch-hit for Tyrone Taylor.
