SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket pulls away from Earth on Friday after lifting off at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. (Courtesy of SpaceX) CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — SpaceX sent another batch of Starlink satellites toward low-Earth orbit on Friday, lifting off at 2:11 p.m. ET.

SpaceX plans to launch the rocket Friday morning with 21 new Starlink satellites in tow, 13 of which officials said will have “direct to cell” capabilities.

The company plans to launch 22 Starlink satellites from its Falcon 9 rocket on Saturday that can be seen above Southern California.

The launch will be SpaceX ’s 134th Falcon flight in 2024, surpassing the company’s prior year total by 38 missions. Of this year’s 134 launches, 89 were devoted to expanding the Starlink global network (including this upcoming flight).

SpaceX rolled the upper stage of its Starship megarocket out to the pad this morning (Jan. 9) ahead of its planned Jan. 13 test flight.
