NFL Draft is this month, and the Miami Dolphins are still slated to make 10 selections across the three-day event. Despite the team signing a fair number of free agents, the roster still has some holes.

The Dolphins escaped a difficult cap predicament with contract restructures (Bradley Chubb, Austin Jackson and Terron Armstead), by signing value players in free agency and by using something called void years, which lowers a player’s cap hit for the following season but results in a cap hit when he’s no longer under contract.

"We thought he was the best option for us," Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Monday. "He was very much ... a direct calculated target. We thought that was a way that the Miami Dolphins could get better and are excited to see how he seizes that opportunity.”
