There’s a brave, new Barbie in the box. Mattel announced the release of the first-ever Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes, complete with a continuous glucose monitor and an insulin pump in Barbie’s signature pink.

Leading diabetes organization Breakthrough T1D partnered with Mattel on Barbie to ensure the devices were medically accurate, saying, "A life with type 1 diabetes can be full, vibrant, and empowering”
