As of Tuesday, the number of CU students whose visas were affected amid nationwide student visa revocations has risen from four to 12.

Colorado State University said on Wednesday that an additional student had their visa revoked after several were revoked a day earlier. The Department of State acknowledged the move but won't say why they were revoked.

University spokesperson Amber McCann said the U.S. Department of State contacted those students directly and the university's Office for International Students and Scholars is aware and working with the students to provide support.

Three international Rice University students and two recent graduates have had their student visas revoked, according to the university's president.

An international student at the University of Iowa had their visa revoked, according to an email sent to members of the campus community.

Rice isn't the only institution impacted. University of Houston leaders say that a small number of international students have had their visas revoked as well.

U.S. officials say they have revoked visas for about 300 international students. School in Texas have confirmed that some of their international students have been impacted as well.

University President Adela de la Torre penned the letter to the campus saying the federal government did not coordinate with the school or give SDSU any advance notice.
