At least three people are dead and 16 others are hurt following shootings across Chicago as of Monday morning. The ages of the victims range from 12 to 42. In the first shooting of the weekend, a 30-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle in the 4300 block of South King Drive just before 8 p.

CHICAGO - A 12-year-old girl was shot and killed on Chicago’s South Side Sunday night. The shooting happened in the 9200 block of South Harper Avenue in the Calumet Heights neighborhood, according to Chicago police. Officers responded to the area around 8:30 p.m.

Jamia Taylor, a 29-year-old mother of six, was fatally shot in Chicago's South Shore and later pronounced dead at the hospital. No arrests have been made.

Less than two minutes after arriving on the scene and going up to the sixth floor, officers encountered Timothy Glaze. At least 20 shots were fired by two officers.

There were 38 homicides recorded throughout the city in January, an 8.6% jump over the same month in 2024, according to new data from the Chicago Police Department.
