A Marine who grew up on Lady’s Island and currently serves at the Marine Corps air base in the city is joining the elite team of aviators

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels announced seven new officers will be joining their team for the 2026 air show season, including a Beaufort native.

The finalists were interviewed at Naval Air Station Pensacola, the team’s home base, during the week of the Pensacola Beach Air Show, and selections were announced at the end of the show.
