A magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocked northwestern Turkey 's Balikesir province on the night of August 10, leaving one person dead and 29 others injured. The quake, which reportedly struck at approximately 7:53 p.m. local time, caused significant damage, with over a dozen buildings collapsing in the region.
