Security researchers say the website of the Chinese artificial intelligence company DeepSeek has computer code that could send some user login information to a Chinese state-owned telecommunications company that's been barred from operating in the United States.

China's new open-source AI chatbot DeepSeek has stoked pride at home but prompted concerns about censorship and data security abroad.

When asked about the 2019 HK protests, DeepSeek said: “under the strong leadership of the central government, HK will surely overcome any difficulties and maintain its prosperity and stability.”
