Reddit is suing artificial intelligence startup Anthropic for what it’s calling a breach of contract and for engaging in “unlawful and unfair business acts” by using the social media company’s platform and data without authority.

Reddit has filed a lawsuit against Anthropic, accusing it of using Reddit’s content without permission to train its AI models. The case, filed in a Northern California court, claims that Anthropic took Reddit’s user-generated posts and used them for profit without following Reddit’s rules or getting a license to do so.
