A Powerball player in Washington won $1 million, just missing the $190 million jackpot, lottery officials say. The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, May 28, Washington’s Lottery said.

A Powerball player in Kansas won $1 million, just missing the $147 million jackpot, lottery officials said. The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, May 21, the Kansas Lottery said. Powerball players in New Hampshire and Texas also won $1 million prizes.

Mica had a lot to celebrate after stopping at a Shell gas station in Lexington, a roughly 20-mile drive south from Winston-Salem. While there, he bought a $3 Quick Pick ticket, meaning a lottery machine chose the numbers at random.

A Powerball player in Georgia netted a big prize despite missing the game’s estimated $125 million jackpot. The lucky player won $50,000 in the Powerball drawing Saturday, May 17, the Georgia Lottery said. The ticket, sold at a Food Mart in Tucker, matched four of five numbers and the Powerball number.

Whenever a Maryland man buys a Powerball ticket, he always spends $1 more buying a second chance ticket. “ If you are going to play, you should give yourself a second chance to win,” the Baltimore man told Maryland Lottery officials in a May 23 news release.

Check those Powerball tickets. According to the New Hampshire Lottery, a store in Rochester sold a $1 million winner for Wednesday night's drawing. The ticket was bought at the Hannaford in the Lilac Mall.
