A few hundred people carrying signs expressing displeasure and concern about actions taken by President Donald Trump met Saturday at the Cadillac City Park.

Activists in some areas braved wet weather to raise signs and chant slogans. supporting the rights of immigrants and criticizing what they view as a power grab by the Trump administration.

"No Kings" rallies are planned at more than 1,400 sites around U.S. this month, including several in western Michigan. “We’re standing together against the abuses of power, the cruelty and corruption,” said Judy Cunningham, rally organizer, in a news release. “On June 14, we gather to remind Trump and his enablers that America has no king.”

The Wexford County Democratic Party and Cadillac Cares are organizing a local “No Kings” rally in Cadillac on Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
