Matt Carpenter, who made three All-Star teams in a 14-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres, announced his retirement Wednesday. Carpenter made the announcement on Sports Spectrum’s Get In The Game podcast speaking with former teammate Scot Linebrink.

During the 2022 MLB season, the New York Yankees proved to be one of the best teams, finishing with an impressive 99-63 record, which helped them finish in first place in the AL East.

The New York Yankees have had many great players in the history of their franchise that spans over several eras and generations. Sometimes, even a player that only spends a brief time in New York is remembered fondly.
