This statue is central of Bologna's identity; even Masarati in neighboring Moderno has used the trident as its logo. The running water in this fountain is a good metaphor for the vibrancy of Bologna.…Full review by Richard C
Is the water fountain turned off at certain times of the year? I visited Bologna in early March 2019 and while I I assume the restoration works were finished as there were no fences or any sign of work the fountain was not running. This was just after the winter storm had swept through Europe. Could it have been turned off due to that?
