Is this track currently open with all the snow that’s fallen in the last 2 days? Wanting to head up tomorrow but did Isthmus Peak today and there was a heap of snow at the top! Can imagine Roy’s Peak having even more due to the height.

Most of the pictures I see of the first view point appear to show a steep drop off on either side. Is that stop really as precarious as it appears in pictures?

No! You can go all the way out to the view without feeling precarious, but on the other hand there's no reason to go all the way out because the view is spectacular from the main trail
